This place is designed to look like your sitting in a train coach. Hence the name Malabar express.
There seemed to be a huge variety of options I ordered the Irachi chor, after it came highly recommended by the waiter.
It just seemed to be meat & spices mixed in rice. Nothing special. Service was really poor with our food taking nearly 40mins to arrive while the other tables got their food even though they arrived later.
Not too impressed.
I’m sure there are better dishes here, but was let down by the Service so not sure of being back.
We came here for the seafood night. You have to choose the seafood from the display you’d like and can ask them to cook it your way. I left this task to my friend who’s an expert with seafood.
We chose everything from crab, squid, oysters, king prawns, lobster to some variety of fish.
The food was really fantastic. With each dish standing out from the rest. The only disappointment had to be the dessert was something that was kept on the menu only as an afterthought. But otherwise a great place for a night out enjoying some amazing food.
Had been here recently for the Friday Brunch. This is more of a sit down brunch. Where you choose 4 steamed & baked dimsum & 1 main dish off the menu.
I initially felt this wouldn’t satisfy the glutton in me as I felt like the portions would be too small.
But you also have unlimited access to the Truffle minced chicken noodle & Peking duck at the live cooking stations.
I had the Wagyu Beef Truffle dumpling, Prawn wonton among others
& the Wok fried Rib eye Beef for the main course.
The food didn’t disappoint. My only complaint had to be the children’s play area which seemed to be filling up with cigarette smoke from a table nearby. I found it really uncomfortable and was surprised they allowed smoking inside the restaurant.
I have always passed by this place at Dubai mall but never made an effort to try it. We decided to give it a go one evening in the spirit of trying something new.
I had the Beef rendang with Rice while my wife opted for a pasta. The beef wasn’t too bad and the pasta was just average.
Service was poor with the staff MIA after having take the order.
With many more options at Dubai mall these guys need to step up their game.
We came here recently for the Friday Beelicious Hide Brunch. The brunch takes place at the same venue as the Warehouse which is at the Le Meridian in Al Garhoud.
We had a rough start as even after making a booking we were made to sit out which had no proper access unless u were a monkey and were prepared to hop, skip & jump across other tables, chairs and shrubbery.
We finally managed to get seated inside. I didn’t expect the food to be any good. But it actually did not disappoint.
Lot of options for both vegetarians and non vegetarians
I’m not much of a Hot Dog person so I wasn’t expecting much on my visit here. But these guys really impressed me.
I tried The Mexican, which comes with a 7 inch Angus Beef Hot Dog, Guacamole, salsa sauce, jalapeño, sour cream, nachos & shredded cheese. That really is a mouthful. All the toppings really come well together to make an amazing Hot dog! The only thing missing is Beer! I had ordered the pickles which was also good.
My only disappointment was the Churros. Somehow the texture of it didn’t seem right, probably something to do with the batter.
Otherwise a great new concept in Dubai with a few more Hot Dog shops now open trying to cash in on the trend.
